Strengthening Marine Protected Areas
and promoting a sustainable model for oceans

The main objective of the MPAs Canary Islands project is to strengthen existing Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and promote the creation of new ones in the Canary Islands archipelago. It seeks to ensure effective management and maximize the positive impact on the marine environment, both locally and regionally. This initiative is aligned with the global goal of protecting 30% of the oceans by 2030, and seeks to position the Canary Islands as a model of sustainable marine resource management.
